Sustainability

We believe in minimising our impact on the environment. All our new packaging is paper based, sourced sustainably, and fully recyclable. However, you might encounter plastic packaging such as bubble wrap from time to time - this is because we also aim to reuse when possible, and we encourage you to recycle or repurpose it. Due to the fragile nature of our products, we still need to use multiple layers packaging to protect it from breaking during transit. Thank you for your understanding.
Below are the materials we used to pack our products:

Water Activated Tape

Water activated tape uses a starch based adhesive tape that is dry to touch until activated by contact with water. It is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, without needing to separate from the cardboard for recycling.

Honeycomb Paper

Honeycomb paper is made from kraft paper, with a pattern of hexagonal cells. It is fully biodegradable, compostable and recyclable. We use it to replace plastic bubble wrap when shock absorption is needed, to protect fragile items from cracking or breaking during delivery.

Reused Packaging

When we have used packaging, we reuse it to save waste. These usually come leftover materials from our suppliers, or perhaps recycled/donated by others. These may include: bubble wrap, air pillows, air cushions, cardboard boxes, etc.

Packaging Box

Of course, with paper cardboard, fully recyclable!

From time to time, we will also use recycled cardboard boxes for shipping, or as a packaging material. You may notice markings/printing on the box that has nothing to do with Yorokobi Australia, or egg cartons used for cushioning your order. We hope you understand and thank you for being part of the solution to less waste! If you prefer your boxes to be new, please let us know when you place your order.
