Shino pottery is a Mino ware tradition, handcrafted individually on a potter's wheel. Artisans strive to capture the simplicity of mountain soil, river water, and natural materials, using traditional techniques. Oribe Ware is glazed in blue or green and emerging during the Keichō and Genna periods (1596–1624). It is named after Furuta Oribe, a disciple of Sen Rikyū, who guided its initial creation. It often features irregular shapes and asymmetrical designs, reflecting the Japanese aesthetic principle of wabi-sabi, beauty in imperfection, which encourages us to appreciate nothing is truly perfect or permanent.
